What is LEAN Energy Retrofit Program?

LEAN is the utility sponsored, incentive program for affordable mutifamily developments.  It provides free energy assessments to those developments that qualify based on their energy consumption levels. Based on the assessment, the program also covers the equipment and installation costs for certain prescriptive measures.

How do buildings qualify?

ABCD (Action for Boston Community Development) administers the program.  All multifamily properties owned by public housing and non-profit organizations are eligible.  The application requires two steps: 1) submit an online application at http://leanmultifamily.org, and 2) and enter the building's information in WegoWise (visit www.wegowise.org). Developments or buildings are selected basaed on their energy consumption.

How is EnerSpective Invovled?

EnerSpective has been involved in the LEAN Energy Retrofit program from early in the process. We provided technical support for creating the technical requirements, process and prescriptive energy efficiency measures (EEMs). Currently, we are one of the providers for energy and water assessments and provide design and specification of boiler plant upgrades and building envelope improvements.
